Obituary of Joe "Cheche" Sosa Saldaña

Our beloved Joe "Cheche" Sosa Saldaña, age 90, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 29, 2022. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe Anthony Saldaña; his parents, Luis Saldaña and Lucia Sosa; his siblings, Juan Saldaña, Pedro "Pete" Saldaña, Paul Saldaña, Maria Guadalupe "Lina" Reyna, Hortencia "Tencha" Castillo, Maria "Mere" Banda, and Juanita Saldaña, and his in-laws, Luciana "Chana" Saldaña, Teresa Saldaña, and Joe Reyna.

Joe is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann Rheiner (John), JoAnn Peña (Mike), Lupe Buff (Mitchell), and Gloria Connie (Arthur); his grandchildren, Tommy Larsen (Madelyn), Brandon Hall (Carly), Michael Peña, Rosie Peña, Audrey Connie, Charlotte Connie, Leann Buff, Jessica Nanyes, and Kayla Ivy (Brad); his great grandchildren, Ethan Larsen, Joseph Ortega, Lee Contreras, and Ezekiel Contreras; his siblingws, Lucia "Luche" Saldaña and Anita Castillo (David); his in-laws, Irene Saldaña, Emilio Castillo, and Lawrence "Lencho" Banda, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Banda, Buddy Saldaña, Thomas Larsen, Michael Peña, Arthur Connie, and Joe Davila, Jr.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlotte Connie and Brandon Hall.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis, Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow.
