Obituary of Gloria A. Alaniz

Our beloved Gloria A. Alaniz, age 95, was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 24, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo Alaniz, Sr.; her parents, Juan Araguz and Anita Sanchez Flores; her siblings, Florencio Araguz, Graciano Araguz, Cayetano Araguz, Francisco Araguz, and Arturo Araguz; her brother-in-law, Lencho Longoria, and her son-in-law, Gilbert Villaseñor, Sr.

Gloria is survived by her children, Rosemary Alaniz Vidaurri (David), Rodolfo "Rudy" Alaniz, Jr., Gloria Alaniz Villaseñor and John Alaniz (Ruby); her siblings, Maria Anita Longoria and Alfredo Araguz (Dolores); twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Rodolfo John Alaniz, Gilbert Anthony Villaseñor, Jr., Trevor Alaniz, Nicolas Alaniz, Calin Vidaurri, and Christopher Charles Villaseñor.

The family would like to offer their sincerest appreciation to the staff of Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and dedication to Mrs. Alaniz, especially Lidia Alaniz Mendoza.  May God bless and keep each of you.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St, Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Janaury 4, 2023 at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 126 W. Oltorf St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Cemetery, 6300 William Cannon Dr., Austin, Texas.
