Obituary of Rosa Escareno Magallanez

Our beloved Rosa Escareno Magallanez, age 86, resident of Austin, Texas, was called to our Heavenly Father on Monday, December 5, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her son, Anastacio Moreno; her parents, Narciso Zapata Escareno, Sr. and Josefa Velasquez Escareno, and her siblings, Estella Velasquez, Narciso Escareno, Jr., Delores "Lolo" Escareno (Leandra), Mercedes "Mercy" Guerrero (Ignacio), Carmen Mendez, Faustino "Tino" Escareno, and Marcela Escareno.

Rosa is survived by her children, Alfred Magallanez; Steve E. Magallanez (Diane), and Richard "Rick" Magallanez, Sr. (Mary Jane); her grandchildren, Michael Anthony Magallanez (Jenni), Brandi Victoria Magallanez, Alfred Magallanez III (Christine), Simona-Rosa Lee Cardenas (Jesse), Erica Ann Magallanez (Michael Salazar), Steven Joseph Magallanez, Denise Nicole Magallanez (Fernando Castaneda), Monica Marie Magallanez (Joel Azzano), Valerie Ann Magallanez (Matthew Vega), Richard "Ricky" Magallanez, Jr. (Alonzo Flowers), John Guadalupe Magallanez, Tony Moreno, Marcelina Moreno-Mendoza, and Gabriel Moreno; her siblings, Manuela "Mayme" Molina, Olga Sanchez (Ray), Isabel "Chavela" Hernandez, Josie Escareno Martinez, and Juan Escareno (Martha); her daughters-in-law, Ida Magallanez and Blanca Martinez; 35 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be Alfred Magallanez III, Steven Magallanez, Ricky Magallanez, Johnny Magallanez, Jude Cardenas, and Christian Rodriguez; honorary pallbearers will be Michael Magallanez, Sr., Joel Azzano, Matt Vega, Roman Cardenas, Michael Magallanez, Jr., Victor Vega, and JohnMatt Vega.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

A Scripture Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 also at Mission Funeral Home - South Side.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.
