I was fortunate to work pretty closely with David for several years. He was one of a kind.
David never had to “leave” – he would always “jet.” He gave out a lot of nicknames: Reece of The Flock, Vato, Vickopolis, Hough Daddy, Insane Covain (for a very dignified older woman). One member of our group met her future husband while we worked together. Any time his name came up, David would launch into a short rant about how this boyfriend was probably Knight Rider from the tv show. I thought David’s humor helped the entire group bond. Even his advice to me before my wedding was classic David: “You should cancel the wedding and buy a big screen tv instead!” He wasn’t just funny, though. He was a good man. Being around David made life better.
I respected David a lot. I will miss him.
