Obituary of Dolores Rodela Navarro
Dolores Rodela Navarro, age 80, was called to our Savior's Kingdom on Tuesday, September 28, 2022. She was born on May 24, 1942 in Austin, TX to Gabriel and Fabiana Rodela. She married her one and only true love, Raymond Espinosa Navarro on April 14, 1963.
Dolores enjoyed annual family summer vacations to Mexico and going fishing. She also enjoyed collecting sand dollars and seashells at the beach. She dedicated herself to missionary work with Hands of Luke in Juarez, Mexico to provide volunteer medical aid to all in need of service. After 35 years, Dolores retired from St. David's Hospital as a surgical technician. She took pride in becoming part of the first day surgery center in Austin, TX.
She joined her husband of 59 years, Raymond Navarro; her parents, Gabriel and Fabiana Rodela, and her siblings, Connie Crider, Gabriel Rodela, Jr. and Gloria Hollenbeck.
Dolores is survived by her children, George Navarro (Bernice) and Christina Navarro; her treasured grandchildren, George Gabriel Navarro and Rebecca Celeste Navarro; her siblings, Joe Alfred Rodela (Cecilia), Terr Kline (Bob), Joe Angel Rodela, and Elisa Quintana, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Gonzales, Tre Gonzales, David Navarro, Gabriel Navarro, Eddie Navarro, Jr. Trevino, and Joe Alfred Rodela.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6240 S. First St., Austin, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.
