Obituary of Angelita Torres Moran
Our Beloved Angelita Torres Moran, age 71, of Austin, Texas was called by Our Heavenly Father on Monday, July 11th, 2022, into eternal rest. She was greeted in heaven by her parents, Merced and Magdalena Torres and her brother, Merced Torres, Jr.
Angelita (Angie / Gela) was born in Buda, Texas on May 31st, 1951. She graduated from Del Valle High School in 1969 and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1977. While pursuing her education, she began her career working at Texas Workforce Commission and retired in 2000 after 31 years of service. She went on to work at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas and once again, retired after 16 years of service in 2016.
Angie was a dedicated mother to her daughter, Lisa. She worked hard to support her daughter in all her endeavors. Whether that was cheering Lisa on in high school marching band, getting her college dorm room set up, or helping her move across the country to pursue her career. Lisa was one of her greatest joys and proudest accomplishments in life. She was the best mother and friend a daughter could ever ask for.
Angie was a strong woman, amazing friend, and a loving mother, sister, and aunt. She was cherished by all who met her and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Moran; her siblings, Mary Jordan (Troy), Tom Torres (Wendy), Irma Vasquez (Alfredo), Josie Torres, Naomi Garcia (James); her sister-in-law, Elvia Romo, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving family and friends.
In remembrance of Angelita, the family requests that charitable donations be made to Texas Oncology Foundation, or to a meaningful charity of your choice.
