Obituary of Rosa Maria Ornelas Soto

Our beloved Rosa Maria Ornelas Soto, age 67, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 30, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cristino Ornelas Espino and Maria de Jesus Soto Calderon, her son, Israel Aguilar, and her brothers, Reymondo Ornelas and Amparo Ornelas.

Rosa era una mujer llena de amor y bondad. Cuando éramos ninos frecuentemente llevaba a casa con extraños porque ocupaban ayuda. Siempre ayudando a todos. A veces despertamos a una casa llena donde no había por donde pasar y a veces solo eramos nosotros. Aun cuando no había suficiente para nosotros ella siempre se aseguraba que hubiera para todos. Su fe y su bondad marcaron nuestras vidas. Rosa disfrutaba pasar tiempo con sus hijos, sus nietos, y sus bisnietos, al igual que jugar a la baraja y la lotería con sus hermanas, sobrinas, y amistades. Le gustaba siempre estar rodeada de sus familiares. 

Cuando estaba sola le encantaba crear sus cartas de lotería, cuidar sus macetas,  al igual que tejer y bordar diversas cosas para sus nietos y bisnietos. Le encantaba  cantar, bailar y escuchar música.

Rosa is survived by her children, Abel Aguilar (Sabrina), Macario Aguilar, Maria Aguilar (Eliseo Lara), Anna Sauceda (Jose), and Ruby Aguilar (Jose Rodriguez); her brothers Arturo Ornelas (Christina) and Leroy Ornelas (Lynn); her sisters, Esther Lopez, Amelia Ornelas, Teresa Dominguez (Antonio), and Margarita Ornelas (Josue Perez). Rosa also leaves 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
