Obituary of Doroteo Cantu

Our beloved Doroteo Cantu, age 82, was called to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 15, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his two sons, Ricardo Cantu and Raul Cantu; his parents, Anselmo and Antonia Cantu, and his siblings, Robert Cantu and his wife, Gloria, Ramon Cantu and his wife, Noemi, Josie Gamez, Rosa Garza and her husband, Augustine, Dora Vallejo and her husband, Joe, and Jesse Vallejo.

Doroteo is survived by his wife of 65 years, Micaela Cantu; his children, Dorothy Cantu, Dina Cantu, Sanjuanita Cantu Carrera and her husband, Jose, Dawn Cantu, and raised as his own, Sarah Cantu; his siblings, Felix Cantu and his wife, Angie, Anselmo Cantu, Jr. and his wife, Rosa, Steve Cantu, Antonia Villagomez and her husband, Frank, and Senovia Vallejo; 26 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022, at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

during this very difficult time.
