Obituary of Jesus P. Alvarado
Jesus P. Alvarado passed away from this world to his eternal rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesse, or Chuy, as he was called by family and friends, lived a full 87 years at his passing.
He is survived by Juanita (Janie), his wife of 60 years; their six children and spouses, Sylvia Alvarado (Rogelio Gonzalez), Diana (Raul) Vallejo, Miguel (Yvette) Alvarado, Ursula (John) Sullivan, Sergio (Lisa) Alvarado, and Martin Alvarado (Melissa McFerrin); their grandchildren: Analicia, Raul Javier (Sheryl), Maricruz, Zachary, Jacob, Aleena, Gabriela, Lilly, Brendan, Sergio Jr., Kevin, Arabela, and Samuel; and his two cats, Patch and Bronca.
He is also survived by his sisters (in-law) and brothers (in-law), Maria Plancarte, Anita (Mario) Escamilla, Eulalio Alvarado, Antonio Alvarado, Guadalupe (Linda) Alvarado, Maryann Serrano, Odilon (Susan) Alvarado, and Marye (Leonard) Hernandez; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Odilon and Juana Pacheco Alvarado; his brothers and sisters, Rito (Angelina), Juan, Arnulfo, Crispina, and Theodora Alvarado; and one grandchild, Catherine Mary Sullivan.
His family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who cared for him this past year as he battled lung cancer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 5:00-8:30 p.m. with a Holy Rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home in Austin, Texas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Austin, Texas followed by burial services at Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in honor of Jesse.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,
capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.
We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to
help protect our community. If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,
it is recommended that you not attend services.
The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support
during this very difficult time.
