Obituary of Yolanda Barbosa

Our beloved Yolanda Barbosa, age 79,  resident of Austin, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 23, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Manuel Barbosa; her parents, Simon Vasquez and Luisa Segura Flores; her son, Joseph Barbosa; her grandson, Nicholas Segovia; her siblings, Felipe Vasquez, David Flores, Frank Flores, Chencho Flores, Andrew Flores, Lupe Flores, and Rosa Vasquez Garcia. 

Yolanda is survived by her children, Barbara Jean Barbosa, Manuel Barbosa III (Mary Helen Lopez), Catherine Barbosa, James Barbosa (Kathy Cortez), Mark Anthony Barbosa, (Keyla), Iole Barbosa Scholl (Kevin), Joseph Barbosa, and Orlando Barbosa (Mary); her 28 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; her siblings, Jesse Flores, Henry Flores, Sam Flores, Benny Flores, Julia Candelas, Celicia Flores and Margaret Flores. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home South, 6204 S 1st Street, Austin, Texas, 78745.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2208 E 2nd Street, Austin, Texas, 78702.  Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

during this very difficult time.
