Obituary of Consuelo A. Regalado

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Consuelo Regalado, age 87, was called to our Heavenly Father on Monday, January 3, 2022.  She is reunited in Christ with her loving husband, Rudy P. Regalado.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Juana Alvarez, and her brother, Jose Alvarez.

Consuelo is survived by her son, Juan Osoria (Linda); daughters, Christine Regalado and Virginia Regalado; her sisters, Rosa Garcia (Miguel), Guadalupe Luna, and Carmela Soto; her grandchildren, Jacklyn Capri Gonzales, Brittany Ariana Osoria, Clarissa Marie Osoria, Lauryn Hailey Regalado-Gutierrez, John Andrew Gonzales, Alexander Renee Gonzales, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Consuelo was born in Rosita Coahuila, Mexico, where she worked as a nurse serving those who were sick. Consuelo retired from the University of Texas as a custodian.  She was very proud of her accomplishments.  She was a great cook when she was able and taught her children very well!  She loved her grandchildren and cherished all the good memories.  She loved her grandchildren's dogs, Milo and Sprinkles, who brought great joy to her life as she watched them run and play.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the hospice staff and to all the staff at St. David's South Austin Medical Center, 2nd floor, for the care they provided while tending to her needs.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Martin Regalado, John Gonzales, John Andrew Gonzales, Brian Gonzalez Andrade, Nereo Gonzales, and Alfredo Gonzalez Trejo.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Alexander Rene Gonzales.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Robert T. Martinez & 2nd St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

during this very difficult time.
