Obituary of Vera Ortega
Our beloved Vera Ortega, age 68, was called to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. She was greeted in heaven by her loving husband of 35 years, Bertoldo Ortega Molina; her son, Bertoldo Ruben Ortega, Jr.; her grandson, Frank Ramos; her parents, Camerino Vargas and Dolores F. Rodriguez; her brother, Albert Rodriguez, and her sister, Janie Torres.
Vera is survived by her children, Jessica Frank Ruiz (Rene), Monica Tobar (Ector), Gloria Ortega (Lunberto Barvosa), Laura Ortega (David Reyes), Vera Christine "Tina" Castillo (David), and Melinda Ortega (Justin Rucker); her grandchildren, Joshua Ortega, Michael Ortega, Rosie Ortega, Stephanie Ortega, Samantha Ramos, Ezekiel Ramos, Desiree Lopez, Brittney Castro, Isaiah Castro, Isaac Castro, Noah Tobar, Damien Cervantes, Brandon Cervantes, Jacob Mendez, Devin Mendez, Manuel Venegas, Jayson Venegas, Leyla Ortega-Reyes, Amelia Ortega-Reyes, Xiomara Ortega-Reyes, David Castillo, Analisa Castillo, Angel Castillo, Eliana Rucker, and Jackson Rucker; her great grandchildren, Jeremiah Vargas Ortega, Donovan Vargas Ortega, Michael Ortega, Ariana Ortega, Kataylna Ortega, Nathaniel Aguilar, Addisyn Aguilar, Sebastian Aguilar, Kalirae Aleman, Kamila Aleman, Roman Ortega, Ashlyn Lopez, Sofia Lopez, Isabella Lopez, Zeno Cervantes, Gianna Cervantes, and Asce Cervantes; her brother, David Rodriguez (Nelda Moran); her sister, Mary Garcia (Manuel), and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.
The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 alsto at Mission Funeral Home - South Side. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.
Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,
capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.
We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to
help protect our community. If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,
it is recommended that you not attend services.
