Obituary of Patsy Nuñez Salinas

Please share a memory of Patsy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our beloved Patsy Nuñez Salinas, age 69, was called to our Heavenly Father on Monday, December 20, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her father, Nick Nuñez, Sr. and Margarita Martinez Nuñez; her brothers, Nick Nuñez, Jr. and Tony Nuñez, and her sisters-in-law, Dolores Nuñez and Ninfa Nuñez.

Patsy was a lifelong Austinite who married her high school sweet heart. She loved to cook, host parties and was the glue that held her family together. Patsy was an active member of the church and loved to give back to her community.  Patsy will forever be remembered for her love of family, sense of humor, awesome cooking and kindness. She believed in being fair and always demonstrated empathy towards others.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sean Gilbey and his staff along with the medical staff at University Hospital in San Antonio for providing excellent care to our beloved Patsy. Thank you to Hospice of Austin. The family is especially grateful to the donor that made it possible for Patsy to be the recipient of a double lung transplant. We are forever in your debt.

Patsy is survived by her husband of 45 years, George Salinas; her son, Dominic and his wife, Dora; her grandchildren, Gemma Salinas and Tessa Salinas; her brothers, Frank Nuñez (Abelina Cantu) and Lole Nuñez (Rachel); her sisters-in-law, Emma Guerrero-Nuñez, Veronica Nuñez, and Delia Hernandez, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

Honored Pallbearers will be Nick Ernest Nuñez, Randy Nuñez, Daniel Sustaita, Jr., Martin Salinas, Robert Martinez, George Grondin, and Terry Grondin.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.
