Obituary of Faustino "Tino" Fabela, Jr.
Our beloved Faustino "Tino" Fabela, Jr., age 65, was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 4, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Faustino Fabela, Sr. and Lucy Garcia Fabela, and his first wife and mother of his children, Graciela "Gracie" Fabela. Faustino proudly served our country in the United States Marines, retired from the Texas National Guard and owned his own business as a Master Plumber.
For those who knew and loved Tino, he could always be counted on for help: a shoulder to cry on, a hand up when needed, or a good laugh when it seemed the world was against us. Tino was always there for us. Tino got great joy in serving his family. He truly enjoyed volunteering for his community. He was a longtime volunteer for the Blue Santa, Brown Santa and Silver Santa programs, VP of Austin Tejano Music Coalition, as well a generous donor to many other programs. We'll continue to enjoy Tino's memory thru his love for Tejano music, dancing, joking, laughing, beaching & traveling. The last gift he gave to this world was being an organ donor and helping 60 people with his donation. “Baby don’t cry, baby don’t get no milk,” he’d tell us. Semper Fi!
Tino is survived by his wife, Debbie Fabela; his children, Tracie Mata (Efrain), Faustino Fabela III, Suzanne Guerrero (Mike); step-children, Charlie Cardenas, Sr. (Jessica), Erving Lopez, Rubina Alvarez (Christopher, Jr.), and Mary Lopez; his grandchildren, Destiny Mata, John Paul Fabela, Julia Luz Fabela, Graciela Mata, Zoe Guerrero, Mikey Guerrero; step-grandchildren, Karen Villegas, Priscilla Cardenas, Charlie Cardenas Jr., Christopher Alvarez III, Grabiel Alvarez, Jaxson Alvarez, Malayna Lopez. Great grandchildren, Gabriel Fabela, Malia Roxanne Villanueva, Mylah Rose Villanueva, Isabella Averee Chavez, and Aiden Raymundo Chavez; his siblings, Connie Pardo (Santos), Fina Fabela, and Martina "Martha" Fabela Gonzalez (Javier), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.
An inurnment for Mr. Fabela will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors, 520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas.
