Obituary of Manuel Olvera
Please share a memory of Manuel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On November 8th, 2003 after 90 years of work on Earth, our merciful Father called upon one of his angels to stand along side him in Heaven, our blessed ?Uncle? Manuel Olvera.Manuel was preceded in death by parents Francisco and Matiana Olvera, Brothers, Victor, Martin, Jesus, Reies, Joe and Alfonso Olvera and a Godson Manuel Mojica.
Uncle Manuel is survived by a Sister; Rosa Olvera and nephew Joseph Olvera, both of Austin. Manuel was a WWII Veteran, serving from March 1942 to October 1945 and was awarded the American Theater Campaign, Good Conduct Medal, EAME Campain Medal with 3 bronze stars and a WWII victory medal. Gods ultimate grace to a very special and generous Son, brother, cousin, uncle, great-uncle, padrino and yes, even a father, from those whose life were blessed by his presence. It is written that a man should by up his riches in heaven and not on earth. Even the poorest of men on earth are nobleman in heaven. And so ?Uncle? Manuel, a man who helped all those in need and gave from his heart continually truly has a great palace in heaven. He will be truly missed by all whose life he touched. It is with a sad but joyful heart we say farewell, that he may complete his spiritual journey. We truly love you and your memory will fill our lives.
Recitation of rosary 7:30pm Tuesday at the Mission Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Ressurection will be celebrated 1:00pm Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Richard Hall, OMI to officiate. Committal services will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are his Nephews.
Esther Espinoza, Mary Escobar, and Inez Mojica express special thanks to everyone who provided love, care and comfort to our beloved Uncle during his life and his illness.
