Our beloved Manuel ?Cosmo? Calvo, Jr., 49, resident of Austin was called by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 16, 2003.He was preceded in death by His parents Manuel and Serviana Calvo, Sr., 3 Brothers Ralph Calvo, Edward Calvo,Manuel ?Penny? Calvo, Jr. and a sister Bernice Alvarez. Cosmo was employed at Capital Metro for 17 years and a member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church.
Survived by his beloved wife; Jean R. Cruz, Daughter; Mary Ann Calvo (Leonard Lona) Step-Daughters; Mary Helen Flores(David), Janie Cruz(Mike Rodriguez), Liz Delarosa(Marvin Pacana), Sandra Cavazos(Gilbert), Dominga Cruz(Ray Moncada), Stepsons;Juan Cruz and Ernest Cruz, Brothers;Alfred Calvo and wife Emily, Gilbert Calvo and Alex Calvo, Sisters; Dora Rodriguez and husband Frank, Mary Louise Trevino and husband Roy, Cindy Escalante and husband Ray all of Austin. 4 Grandchildren; Robert Lona, Isaiah Lona, Angel Lona and Matthew Lona, 35 Step-Grandchildren and 19 Step-Great-Grandchildren survive him.
Recitation of rosary Sunday, 7:00PM at the Chapel of Mission Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 10:00am Monday at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Larry Mattingly to officiate. Committal services will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Josh DelaRosa, Jonathan DelaRosa, Xavier Cruz, Gilbert Calvo, Roy Trevino, Jr. and Mike Rodriguez.
Honorary pallbearers are Gilbert Marrero, Jr. and his 4 Grandsons.
