Obituary of Christine Cortez Flores

Our beloved Christine Cortez Flores, age 59, resident of Austin, was born into Eternal Life on Thursday, November 11, 2021. She is reunited with her parents, Jose Guadalupe and Janie Cortez Flores. 

Christine is survived by her loving children, Christopher Flores, and his spouse, Natalie, Amadeus Waters, and his spouse, Erin, Krystal Pope, Pedro Martinez, Juan Pablo Martinez; her precious grandchildren, Terri Flores, Nikola Waters, Ricky Tyler Castillo, Jr.; her siblings, Joann Flores, Joel Flores, Peter Flores, and his spouse, Rebecca, Jesse Flores, and his spouse Lisa, Nancy Flores, Yvonne Flores, Patricia Flores, Gustavo Flores, and his spouse, Serelle; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021, from 5:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following afternoon, Monday, November 22, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Avenue, Austin, Texas. 

Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
