Obituary of Richard P. Torres

Our beloved Richard P. Torres, Sr., age 80, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 21, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Santos Torres and Jual Pacheco Torres; his grandson, Jimmy Lane Johnson, Jr., and his brother, Tato Torres.

Richard is surived by his wife of 56 years, Vivian Torres; his children, Daniel Cuevas, Debra Ellison (Wayne), and Richard Torres, Jr.; his sisters, Angela Stewart, Aida Colon, Emilia Hunt, Dolores Colon, and Dolly Colon; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and numerous niece, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas. Public services will conclude at 9:00 p.m. following Rosary.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
