Dorothy M. Limon, 66 of Austin, Texas went to be with our Lord on Friday, October 22, 2021. Dorothy M. Limon, lovingly called “Dee” was born to Rufus Mendoza and Anastacia Alvarez Mendoza on June 12, 1955. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 22 years Edward H. Limon, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Fidencio Mendoza, Victor Mendoza, Earl “Joe” Mendoza, Ernest Mendoza, a sister Marie Hardison and a granddaughter Amber Mojica.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Demetrio Zambrano, Adrian Zambrano (Claire Moore), Talia Gentry (Keith), Paul Zambrano (Priscilla), Jessica Mojica (Jason), and Janice Phenix (Andre), Mark Limon (Patricia) and James Limon. She leaves behind her twin sister Dolores M. Flores, (Sam) and her sisters Cecilia Mendoza, Celia Mendoza, and Cordelia Mendoza.
She leaves to cherish beautiful memories her grandchildren: Zoë Zambrano, Luke Zambrano, Emily Gentry, Malachi Gentry, Savanah Zambrano, Riley Mojica, Jannalia Mojica, Maverick Mojica, Andre Jaylon Phenix, Jacoby Phenix, Lorenzo Phenix, Jeremiah Limon and Celiena Cruz and great granddaughter Olivia Diaz.
Dorothy was a loving Tia to many nieces and nephews. She embraced them as if they were her own children. She was their second mama to all. All her nieces and nephews knew they could always count on “Tia Dorothy” to the rescue. It is heartbreaking for Dorothy’s sisters to watch their children cry out for their Tia Dorothy. Dorothy knew no limit of what she would do for them.
Mrs. Limon was a compassionate person who always put others before herself. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. On weekends she and her husband enjoyed going to the baseball and football fields to watch their grandsons play sports. Dorothy knew no strangers no matter where she went, she’d strike up a conversation always ready to help those in need. She and her husband Eddie enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns play.
Dorothy enjoyed country and western dancing where she and Eddie enjoyed dancing to their favorite song, “Neon Moon”. Dorothy played games such as bingo and Loteria with her sisters, occasionally dressing up silly to pass the time away and make memories. Dorothy will be missed greatly but will be remembered for her big heart.
