Our beloved Amelia ?La Guera? Watson, 71, former resident of Taylor, TX was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, September 19, 2003.Amelia was preceded in death by her Grandsons; San Juan Diaz, Baby Morales, Great-Grandson Baby Santos Morales, Amelia?s Parents Howell Douglas and Margarita Watson, Sister Fermina Guerra, Brothers Senon and Benito Espinosa, and Frank and Douglas Watson.
Survivors include: Daughters: Alice Marie ? Ester? Diaz, Consuelo ?Connie? Morales and husband Jesse, Maria Rosario Benavides and husband Gilbert, Rachel Helsdingen and husband Peter, all of Austin. Sons: Pete Trevino Jr. and wife Martha of Belton, Emil Gonzales Jr. and wife Carolyn, Richard D. Gonzales and Henry Guerra of Austin Brother Moses Espinoza and wife Minerva of Taylor, Special Friend Simon C. Ramirez. Amelia leaves behind 32 Grandchildren, 66 Great-Grandchildren, 20 Great-Great- Grandchildren and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Recitation of rosary Monday, 7:30 PM at the Mission Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Watson will lie in state at 10:00am Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 103 Dickey St., Taylor Texas with Mass of Resurrection to be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fr. Rick Aguilar officiating. Committal services will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Jesse T. Diaz II, Bobby Joe Diaz Sr., Jesse Morales Jr., Michael Roy Morales, Santos Morales, George Morales III, Rogelio Morales, Stephen Trevino, Pete Trevino III, and Ricardo Trevino.
Honorary pallbearers are Amelia?s Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, and her Great Great Great Grandchildren
