Obituary of Raymond R. Torres, Jr.
Raymond R. Torres Jr, 60, born in Austin Texas on July 31, 1961, passed away on October 13, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond .S. Torres Sr; maternal grandparents Augustine C. Rodriguez, and Estella G. Rodriguez; paternal grandparents; Herman and Josephina Salazar; Uncle, Pete S. Torres, Aunt Rosalinda Torres-Sanchez (Albert)
He is survived by his Son, Gabriel R. Torres; Mother, Mary Ann Rodriguez; Brother, Robert R. Torres (Linda); Sisters, Rose Ann R. Torres (Ray), Margo C. Torres-Guerrero (Ben); Uncle, John G Rodriguez (Julia); Nephews, Raymond E. Martinez, Richard E. Martinez, LeeRoy Cortez; Nieces, Crystal A Villela (Micheal), Michelle N Rodriguez (Chris), Lauren M Nino, Alexas N. Taylor, Courtney C. Cortez, and Fiancé, Donella Mercado, 6 Great Nieces, and 4 Great Nephews, and Numerous cousins.
He attended and graduated from S. F. Austin High School graduated 1979 and retired from TxDot after 25 years of service, and is currently employed with the State of Texas Senate.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm, Monday, October 25, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 1206 E 9th St.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery with a graveside service.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Villela, Domingo Villarreal, Ruben Torrez, David Ramirez, Steve Casarez, and Joe Bernal. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond E. Martinez, Richard E. Martinez, LeeRoy Cortez, Rudy "Drag" Garcia, Adam Rodriguez, Lucio Govea, Albert Lucio, Ray Arredondo. Our family would also like to acknowledge his baseball, softball, and fastpitch teammates whom he considered as extended brothers.
The family would like to extend our sincere appreciation for thoughts, prayers, and monetary donations. Also special thanks to Ruben Torrez, and those who helped for the benefit in honor of Raymond, and his coworkers at The Senate.

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.
Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask
and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more. If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,
it is recommended that you not attend services.
