Obituary of Petra Luna Dominguez

Our beloved Petra Luna Dominguez, age 79, was called Home by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.  She was reunited with her husband of 58 years, Cruz Dominguez, Sr.; along with her parents, Hipolito and Maria Concepcion Luna; her sister, Rosa Carrizales Luna, her brothers, Francisco "Pancho Grande" Carrizales Luna, Rumaldo Carrizales Luna, Francisco "Pancho Chiquito" Carrizales Luna and her son-in-law, Chris Ortega.

Petra is survived by her children, Juanita Dominguez (Daniel), Patricia Dominguez Ortega (Chris), Petra Dominguez Banks (Keith), Pauline Dominguez Allen(Robert), Cruz Dominguez Jr(MaryAlice), Lupe Dominguez Choyce (Reggie) Tino Dominguez (Louisa), 20 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and best friend of 50 plus years Alice Navarro; and her beloved dogs Chloe and Kike. Our mom was loved and adored by many and known as Nana.

Pallbearers will be Reggie Choyce, Carlos Robles, Albert Sanchez, James Pavia, Robert Perry Allen II, and Sylvester Kincheon.  Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, great grandchildren, Nicolas Saucedo-Luna, Danny Navarro, and David Navarro.

We would like to thank the staff with Compassus Hospice, nurses Shukri and Janelle, Chaplains Graham and Rob. A very heart felt thank you to Saul Benitez, ACNS, and staff with the Advanced Cardiac Care Clinic for coordinating her care from day one and all those who lifted her up in prayer.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Dr., Austin, Texas.  Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

during this very difficult time.
