Obituary of Victorio Suniga, Sr.
Our beloved Victorio Suniga, Sr., resident of Austin, age 82, was born into Eternal Life on Thursday, October 7, 2021. He is reunited with his parents, Guadalupe and Candida Mojica Suniga; his brother, Marcelino Suniga; his brothers-in-law, Senon Reyes, Sr., and Hector Cortez.
Victorio is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary QuiƱonez Suniga; his children, Victorio "Victor" Suniga, Jr, and his spouse, Janie, Richard Suniga, and his spouse, Debbie, Gilbert Suniga, and his spouse, Julie, Rachael Garcia, Mary Angel Nabours, and her spouse, Dahl, Bernice Nava, and her spouse, Ciro, Gina Suniga, Joseph Suniga, and his spouse, Lisa; 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Frances Reyes, Carmen Ortiz, and her spouse, Ernesto, Felicita Jimenez, and her spouse, Nicolas, Guadalupe Suniga, Jr., and his spouse Olivia, Adolf Mojica Suniga, and his spouse, Guadalupe, Victoria Cortez, Alejandro Suniga, Agustina "Tina" Rivera, and her spouse, Daniel; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Victorio "Popo" was the rock the patriarch to our family. For 33 years he worked hard as a carpenter and worked his way up to become a supervisor for Coreslab Structures all just to make sure his family was well taken care of.
He had a soft spot in his heart for his children,grandchildren and great grandchildren. Victorios hobbies were fishing and sitting in his recliner watching old cowboy shows and football. His favorite teams were Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns.
The Suniga family would like to thank St.David's South Austin Hospital staff. His physicians and their staff Dr.G.Levy, Dr.D.Pol and Satellite Dialysis and staff at Southwood location. A very special thank you to Christopher House Hospice Austin and staff.
Pallbearers are Richard Suniga, Gilbert Suniga, Victor Suniga III, Joseph Suniga, Gilbert Matthew Suniga, Max Ybarra, Brandon Dennis, and Augie Aleman.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following morning, Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2208 East Second Street Austin, Texas.
Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Mendoza, Texas, on the northbound side of TX-183.
Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,
capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.
