Obituary of Amye Mae Haws
Our beloved Amye Mae Haws, age 62, resident of Del Valle, was called by our Heavenly Father on Friday, October 1, 2021. She is reunited with her parents, Homer Nathaniel Haws and Virginia Cervantes; her sister, Minnie D. Haws; her brothers, Tomas Cervantes, David Cervantes; and her long-time companion, Sammy Mackey.
Amye is survived by her children, Virginia Renteria, and her spouse, Rodrigo, Stacey Allen Haws, Jessica Haws-Mackey; her grandchildren, Antonio Renteria, Rodrigo Renteria, Natalia Renteria, Amelia Renteria, Isaiah Haws, Elijah Haws, Jaheim El - Amin, Jamar El - Amin, J-niya El - Amin, Jaiden Mackey, Jala Mackey; her sisters, Eula Lee Haws, Frankie Haws Brown, and her spouse, Ronald; her brother, Luciouse Haws, and his spouse, Geneva; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas.
A Funeral Service will be held the following morning, Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., also at Mission Funeral Home - East Side.
Interment will follow at Haws Family Cemetery on Caldwell Lane in Del Valle, tucked neatly beside Comanche Cemetery.
Due to the Coronavirus / COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,
capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.
Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask
and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more. If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,
it is recommended that you not attend services.
The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support
during this very difficult time.
