Obituary of Antonia Nuncio Ramirez
Our beloved Antonia Nuncio Ramirez, age 83, resident of Austin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Friday, September 24, 2021. She is reunited with her loving husband of 52 years, Jesus Segura Ramirez; her son, Daniel Ramirez; her great-grandson Jesse Ramirez, IV, her parents, Fernando and Piedad Madrigal Nuncio; and her siblings, Luther, Arnold, Joe, Juan Daniel, Rosendo, and Micaela.
Antonia is survived by her loving children, Jesus Nuncio Ramirez, Jr., and his spouse, Sylvia, Javier Nuncio Ramirez, and his spouse, Susie, Anna Matias, and her spouse, Mario, Beatrice Ramirez; her eight precious grandchildren; her 18 treasured great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her extended family, to include the Ramirez Family in Piedras Negras, numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Mrs. Ramirez was born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila Mexico, and moved to Hereford, Texas in 1963. In 1972, the family moved to Austin, Texas. She will be remembered for her endless love and devotion to our family, her passion for cooking, as well devoting endless time to her beloved plants and flowers. Mrs. Ramirez will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, great-grandson and great-nephew: Jesse “Mico” Ramirez, III, Juan Ramirez, Javier Ramirez, Jr., Richard I. “Richie” Garza, Amery J. Torrez, and Mario Hernandez. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her sons Jesus Nuncio Ramirez, Jr. and Javier Nuncio Ramirez.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Robert N. Lowry, Dr. Ryan S. Peterson, and staff at St. David’s Medical Center Main ICU Department. As well as, a very special thank you to Dr. Pete Garcia who was her longtime primary care physician, and a special thanks to Veronica Rivera, her caregiver of many years who provided exceptional companionship and care.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following morning, Friday, October 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 2208 East Second Street, Austin, Texas.
Entombment will follow at Onion Creek Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Due to the Coronavirus / COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,
capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.
Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask
and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more. If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,
it is recommended that you not attend services.
