Obituary of Jesusa "Susie" Garcia Castro

Our beloved Jesusa "Susie" Garcia Castro, age 66, was called to our Heavenly Father on Monday, September 6, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Epifania Garcia; her brothers, Thomas Garcia, Jr. and Louis Garcia; brothers-in-law, Jerry Montez and Martin Castro; sisters-in-law, Edelmira Castro and Elsa Castro, and her nephews, Mark Porter and Danny Alvarez.

Susie is survived by her husband of 36 years, Francisco Javier Castro; her children, Pete G. Gonzales, Jr. (Laurel) and Victoria A. Navarro; her treasured grandchildren, Pete Gonzales III, Leanna Gonzales, Ally Gonzales, Mikaela Navarro, Juliana Navarro, Kendall Davis, Brittany Davis, and Sierra Dixon; great grandchildren, Peter Gonzales IV, Madalyn Gonzales, Hava Dixon, and Fox Dixon; siblings, Josie Sifuentes (Joe), Delia Hernandez (Miguel), Julia Figueroa (Roy), Mary Montez; her sister-in-law, Helen Garcia, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Pete Gonzales III, Kendall Davis, Luis Garcia Jr., Tommy Garcia III, Genaro Rodriguez, and Joe Sifuentes, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Peter Gonzales IV and Fox Dixon. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Dr., Austin, Texas.  Public services will conclude following Mass.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
