Obituary of Gloria Jean Gomez

Our beloved Gloria Jean Gomez, age 69, was called to our Heavenly Father on Friday, September 3, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Gomez; her parents, Frank and Vera Villegas, and her siblings, Bobby Villegas, Frank Villegas, Jr. and Dorothy Villegas.

Gloria is survived by her children, Ray Villegas, Domingo Gomez, Jr., Elizabeth Romero (John), and Michelle Gomez (Emilio); her siblings, Rudy Villegas (Mary), Roy Villegas (Mary Linda), Gary Villegas, Andy Villegas (Deborah), Yolanda Villegas, Mary Tovar (Joel), Lupe Morales and Joyce Zuniga (Stephen); 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Dr., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
