Obituary of Julia G. Orona

Our beloved Julia Orona, age 76, resident of Del Valle, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 4, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Abelino Orona; her parents, Domingo Gauna and Margarita Aleman; her brothers, Eusebio Gauna, Domingo Gauna, Francisco Gauna; and her sister, Dominga Gauna.

Julia is survived by her daughter, Dina Orona; her grandchildren, David Orona, and his spouse, Diana Martinez, Julia Guzman, and her spouse, Juan Alarcon, Ulises Santiago Orona, Daphney Orona, Jazzleyn Rivas, Jeremy Rivas, Jefferson Rivas; her 10 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Irene Ramirez, Mary Jane Gauna, Esperanza Ramirez, Ida Huerta, Florinda Gauna, Sadie Setters, Simon Gauna, Miguel Gauna; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. 

A Funeral Service will be held the following morning, Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., also at Mission Funeral Home. 

Interment will follow at Bagdad Cemetery. 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
