Obituary of Ronald Cortez

Our beloved, Ronald Gerard Cortez Sr., was called home to our Heavenly Father on Monday, August 30, 2021.

He is preceded by parents David Flores Cortez and, Estella Evans Cortez;

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, of 39 years, Martha Cortez; children, Stephanie Lopez and her husband Joe, and Ronald Cortez Jr.; siblings, David Cortez Jr. and his wife Janie, Reynaldo Cortez and his wife Michelle, Jackie Hippolito and her husband Michael, Mary Cortez Vega and her husband Juilian, Jenifer Alejo and, her husband Fabian; grandchildren, Yasmine Garza, Jace Lopez, Esteban Garza III, Avery Lopez, Madison Lopez, Mathew Garza, Zachariah Lopez, Bella Lopez, Lilliana Lopez, Aiden Cortez and Riley Cortez; as well as numerous loving family members and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 111206 E 9th St, Austin, TX 78702. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

The family kindly requests that only immidate family arrive prior to rosary, all friends are welcome and encoraged to attened the interment following at assumption cemetery. 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
