Obituary of Tavyin Rene Salas
Our beloved, Tavyin Rene Salas, was called to our heavenly father on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the age of 25. Tavyin was born July 26, 1996 to Priscilla Lopez and Jonathan Salas. From conception his life was a miracle as his mother was told she couldn’t have children. Tavyin continued to astonish his parents by concealing his presence for 20 weeks evading detection of pregnancy tests but as his parents confirmed his upcoming arrival, his mother knew it was a boy. His mother only had one name picked out and it had to be unique as unique as she knew this precious boy would be.
Tavyin’s childhood years were spent excelling at every sport he tried; it came so natural to him to always be the best. Tavyin’s heart and determination always pushed him forward to succeed at whatever he put his mind to. His personality continued to shine front and center when in High School he was voted “Most Likely to Win an Academy Award” for the elaborate stories he provided on what happened to his homework assignments. Tavyin’s sense humor is an attribute that no one will forget.
In 2013 he graduated from The Texas Challenge Academy and later enlisted in the United States Army and worked as an IT Specialist. In 2016, while in Augusta, Georgia for bootcamp, he met Genesis Patterson. On February 7, 2017 he and Gen were married and daughter Scarlett Rose would later be born July 25, 2018. Although away on deployment in Syria and Jordan, he was so grateful he got to watch her birth virtually and called it one of his life’s best moments. Tavyin took pride in being the best father he could be.
Helping in Tavyin’s growth and upbringing were his grandmother Mary Ann who was like a second mother to him and his uncle Pete and aunt Melissa, who were instrumental in the development of his character. Also, from his father’s side was Momo and Popo who invested lots of love and wisdom.
Tavyin is survived by his loving wife of 4 years, Genesis Salas; precious daughter, Scarlett Rose Salas; his fur-son Kevin Rene Salas; parents, Jonathan Rene Salas, and Priscilla Ann Lopez; grandparents, Mary Ann Lopez and Ernestina and John Cobb; brother, Tyler Kai Orsini; aunt and uncle, Pete and Melissa Lopez; aunt, Crystal Sanders; as well as many cousins and other family members, service members and friends.
