Obituary of Leonarda R. Mancillas

Our beloved Leonarda R. Mancillas, age 70, was called to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Paul Mancillas, Sr.; her mother, Guadalupe Moreno, and her sister, Angelina Ruiz Moreno.

Leonarda is survived by her children, Claudia Mares (Joe), Susan Montoya (Hugo), Yvonne Mancillas (Miguel Montoya), and Paul Mancillas, Jr. (Marina); her grandchildren, Joey Mares, Johnny Mares, Jackie Mares, John Paul Mancillas, Samantha Montoya, Veronica Montoya, Marissa Montoya, Hugo Montoya, Jr., Elizabeth Montoya, Michael Montoya, Gabriela Montoya, Jesus Montoya, Javier Montoya, Adrian Mancillas, and Adam Mancillas; her great grandchildren, Charlotte "Charlie" Mares and Leo Oviedo; her siblings, Eusebio Ruiz Moreno, Juana Ruiz Moreno, Pedro Ruiz Moreno, Pancho Valencia, and Daniel Valencia, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Joe Mares, Johnpaul Mancillas, Johnny Mares, Paul Mancillas, Jr., Michael Montoya, Jose Valencia, Hugo Montoya and Joey Mares.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Jesus Montoya, Adrian Mancillas, Hugo Montoya, Javier Montoya, and Adam Mancillas.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
