Obituary of Gabriel Jamarr Bunton

Our beloved Gabriel Jamarr Bunton, age 36, was called home to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 5, 2021 after an unexpected battle.  He gave the life-giving gift of organ donation to a grateful community. Gabriel was preceded in death by his parents, Kirk Arnold and Muriel Gale Bunton; his brother, Lawrence Lamar Haywood; grandmothers, LaPerri Nell Bunton and Rhoda Johnson, and his brother-in-law, Bruce Wayne Washington, Sr.

Gabriel is survived by his wife of 14 years, Yessenia Bunton; his parents, Carlton and Kim Hurst; his children, Bryan Escalante, Gabriel Jamarr Bunton, Jr., Gabriella Marie Bunton, Gavin Jay Bunton, and Giovanni Jayce Bunton; his siblings, Stacie Spencer, Kirshla Arnold, Krisha Arnold, Konni Arnold, Sheldon Crothers, Kevin Morris, and Carrie Ann Crothers; his in-laws, Maria A. Quintero and Marco A. Quintero, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Escalante, Gabriel Bunton, Jr., Kevin Morris, Sheldon Crothers, Eric Quintero, Eric Nino, Illinois Charles, and Mike Waters. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gavin J. Bunton, Giovanni Bunton, and Carlton Hurst.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.

Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 also at Mission Funeral Home - South Side.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
