Obituary of Thomas A. Pensinger

Thomas A. Pensinger, age 77, passed away June 27, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his father Harry R. Pensinger, his mother Jessie P. Hays and stepfather Charles E. Hays.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 27 years Jovita A. Pensinger, his son Thomas A. Pensinger Jr. and his wife Denise Ann Pensinger, his granddaughter Sara J. Pensinger, daughter Maria S. Pensinger, twin brother Allen R. Pensinger, his nephew Charlie Pensinger and wife Laura Pensinger and their son Allen J. Pensinger.

Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1960-1964.

In his younger years Thomas lived on his grandparents’ farm in Pennsylvania. He loved reminiscing and telling stories about life on the farm. He lived most of his life in Houston, Texas where he worked at Brown and Root. Thomas loved taking his son Tommy Jr. on fishing trips and his daughter Maria ice skating at the Houston Galleria. He loved and always wanted to help all animals, especially dogs. In his later years his beloved dog ‘Heavens to Betsy’ made her way to a new and loving home so Thomas could live at Riverside Nursing home. There he enjoyed playing Bingo and listening to old country music favorites. He met his best friend Robert “Bob” Kotell there and spent many years forming this new friendship.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held for Thomas at Trinity Lutheran Church 431 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA on Thursday July 22, 2021 at 7pm. He will be inurned at a later date at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen, Tx.
