Obituary of Regulo C. Herrera

Our beloved, Regulo Chapa Herrera, 85, of Manchaca ,TX passed away on June 27, 2021 of cancer in his home surrounded by the love of his family. 

Regulo was born on October 3, 1935 to Pedro and Hirginia Herrera of Hutto, TX.  Regulo met his wife, Juanita Rios in Eloy, Arizona in 1956. They married on December 22, 1956 and went on to have 4 kids and settled in Austin Texas where he worked for Capital Metro for 29 years, along with his passion to fish, his Houston Astros and his family.  

Regulo was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Hirginia Herrera, his brother Lazaro, and his sisters Louisa, Estella and Appalonia.

He is survived by his wife of 64 1/2 years, Juanita Herrera, 3 sisters, 2 brothers ,and his children Dianna Castillo, Linda Villegas, Richard Herrera, Margaret Herrera and Richard Herrera Jr. as well as his 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vistation will be held from 4:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:000 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave., Austin, Texas.  Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.
