Ronald William Dennie, MD, of Austin, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2003, with his wife and family at his bedside. A memorial mass will be held Friday, 2:00 PM, at St. John Neuman Catholic Church, 5455 Bee Cave Rd. Msgr. Edward F. Jordan will officiate as celebrant. The Dennie family kindly extends heartfelt gratitude towards the many family and friends for the loving support received. Dr. Dennie was born on November 28, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas, and he went onto earn BS, MS and Medical Degrees from the University of Arkansas. He did residencies in Opthamology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Dennie was also certified by the Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Board of Pain Management, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Disability Evaluating Medical Physicians. He developed and managed several successful practices in such locales as Fresno, CA, Pensacola, FL, Austin, TX, and Jacksonville, Florida. He spent his life tirelessly working to care for not only his family, but also his many employees and patients over the years. He is remembered for his incredible caring nature, fierce sense of loyalty, and warmth in friendship to all that crossed his path. He loved to travel, cook meals for family and friends, and walk amongst the trees on his ranch in Henle. His presence will be missed, but his spirit will remain strong in all that dearly loved him. Dr. Dennie is preceded in death by his father Earl Dennie; sister, Jan Dennie; and niece, April Dennie. He is survived by his loving wife, Diana Rentas Dennie; son, Ronald William Dennie, Jr.; daughters, Diana Melissa Dennie and Deidre Dawn Dennie all of Austin; mother, Frankie Fultz and stepfather Ed; brother, Keith Dennie and wife Glenna; nephew, Richard Dennie all of Little Rock; sister-in-law, Sonia Rentas; nephew, Wil Trinidad and wife Tracy; niece, Bea and husband Matt all of the Washington, DC area. A memorial service for Dr. Dennie will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, July 11, 2003, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 5455 Bee Caves Road in Austin. Msgr. Edward F. Jordan will officiate.
