Obituary of Rufus Maciel

Our beloved Rufus Maciel, age 55, was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 19, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his father, Rafael Soriano.

Rufus is survived by his mother, Carol Dominguez; his siblings, Rose Rojas, Bertha Soriano, Rufus Soriano, Julius Dominguez, Martin Herrera, and Vincent Herrera, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Martin Joseph Herrera , Jr., Isaiah Garza, Jr., Julius Dominguez, Jr., George Rudy Dominguez, Xavier Marin, Vincent Herrera, Rafael Soriano, and Ross Maciel.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas.

A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2021 also at Mission Funeral Home - East Side.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

during this very difficult time.
