Obituary of Joseph G. Chavez

Our beloved Joseph Gregory Chavez, age 25, of Austin, Texas, was called to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 23, 2021. 

He is survived by his parents, Jose Chavez and Maria Bartolo Chavez; his girlfriend and mother of his children, Alexandria Zapata; his children, Joey Alexander Chavez, and Izabella Ann Chavez; his sister, Emily Jasmine Chavez; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, and other loving family and friends. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 03, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home -Serenity Chapel, 6204 S. 1st Street, Austin, TX, 78745.

Funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 04, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1206 E. 9th Street, Austin, TX, 78702.

Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.
