Our beloved Velma Salas, age 64, resident of Cedar Creek, Texas, was born into Eternal Life on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. She is reunited with her parents, Alejandro and Angela Vallejo Zambrano. 

Velma is survived by her children, Susie Araujo, and her spouse, Ignacio, Christine Passarell, and her spouse, Manuel, Jesse Alvarez, Jr., Sharon Alvarez; her honorary daughter, Patty Herrera; eleven precious grandchildren, Christian Cruz, Lesly Alvarez, Angela Ventura, Kiara Araujo, Alize Alvarez, Jay Passarell, Mario Araujo, Raymond Passarell, Serenity Alvarez de Alvares, Leilani Alvarez de Alvares, and Marianña Alvarez-Perez and one treasured honorary grandson, Diego Gomez; one dear great-grandchild, Luna Cruz and one more great-grandchild on the way; her siblings, Erlinda Rodela, and her spouse, J. Merced Herrera, Alex Zambrano, and his spouse, Maria, Abel Zambrano, and his spouse, Mary Jane, Yolanda Lopez, and her spouse, Gary, Elena Zambrano, Edward Zambrano, and his spouse, Janie, Daniel Zambrano, and his spouse, Terri, Celeste Zambrano; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and countless friends. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 5:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas.

This will conclude services for Velma. 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
