Obituary of John Xavier Buentello

Our beloved John Xavier Buentello, Sr., age 57, was called home to our Heavenly Father, on Friday, April 16, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his father, John P. Buentello and his father and mother-in-law, Marcellino  and Elsie Mata.

John is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Lisa Mata Buentello; his mother, Josie Martinez Buentello, his adoring children, Eva Govea-Buentello, Johnathan Buentello, Jr. (Jennifer), Jacob D. Buentello (Miranda), Joseph M. Buentello (Bailey), Joey Ximenez-Buentello, Marissa McBeth-Buentello, Aaron McBeth-Buentello, and Elsie McBeth-Buentello; his two precious grandchildren, Jayce Buentello and Jennalise Buentello; and his siblings Judith Ann Falk (Mike), Julia Buentello Collins (Brian), and Jorge Luis Buentello Sr. (Divina); as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held from at 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2021, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, TX 78745.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 22, 2021, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 4600 E Ben White, Austin, TX, 78741. This will conclude public services for Mr. Buentello.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
