Obituary of Amparo Portillo

Our beloved Amparo Vasquez Portillo, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 5, 2021.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Andrea Pena Vasquez, and by her sister Estela Vasquez. 

Amparo is survived by her loving husband, of over 50 years, Rafael Portillo; children, Edward Portillo and his wife Carizza, and David Portillo; grandchildren, Alexander Jeremiah Rodriguez, David Portillo, and Adrian Portillo; siblings, Juanita Hernandez Jensen, David Vasquez, Lydia Vasquez Guenthner and her husband John, Amanda Ware, Sandra Torralba, Anita Vasquez, Lupe Vasquez, Richard Vasquez and his wife Becky, Paul Vasquez and his wife Irene; as well as numerous loving family members and friends. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives that she has touched. 

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a service beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First St. Austin, TX 78745 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin, capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries. 

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask 

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the 

 virus, it is recommended that you not attend services.
