Obituary of Richard "EL LOCO" Ontiveros, Sr.

Our beloved Richard "EL LOCO" Ontiveros Sr., age 57, of Austin, Texas, was called home on Friday, April 2, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe Ontiveros; his mother, Francis Rodriguez; his brothers, Victor Ontiveros, and John "John Boy" Garcia. 

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Ontiveros; his children, Richard Ontiveros, Jr., Cierra Ontiveros, Iris Valadez, Flora (John Paul), Teresa (Drew), Arthur Longoria III (Liz); his brothers, Lupe, Roy, "Bullo" Salvador (Vicky), Tony, Charlie (Diane) Ontiveros, Martin Ontiveros; his sisters, Victoria Benavidez (Gene), Maryann Martinez (Valdo); his step-father, Salvador Rodriguez; his sister-in-law, Jean Ontiveros; 21 grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.  EL LOCO will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, his 21 grandchildren, and many other loving family and friends. 

His famous words: "La Primera Lives".

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m, at Mission Funeral Home East, 1615 E Cesar Chavez St. Austin, Texas 78702.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
