Surrounded by his loving family, our beloved Reynaldo “Ray” Soliz Yanez, Sr., born June 25, 1953, was called to Rest by our Heavenly Father at the age of 67, Sunday, March 21, 2021.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 47 and a half years, Mary Romero Yanez; children, Akaimi Yanez-Upchurch (Heath), Dawn Rials (Bobby), Marisa Yanez (Jai), Reynaldo “Ray” Yanez Jr., and Audrey Yanez (Josh); grandchildren, Andraya Upchurch, Lillian Upchurch, Heath “Junie” Upchurch, Jr., Jeremy Rials, Thomas Rials, Chloe Rials, Lisa Rials, John Christopher Martinez, Naomi Martinez, Jasmine Martinez, Briana Yanez, Adam Yanez, Danika Ortiz, and Carlos Ortiz Jr; great-grandchildren; Noah, Zale, Sebastian, Elizabeth, Yareli, Evakny, Elia, Ezalia, Jayden, and Keegan. Sisters, Minnie Rodriguez (Bernadino), Alicia Duran (Jesse), Dolores Yanez Garcia, Bertha Riojas (Felix), Olga Clark (Albert), Sally Venegas (Charles) and brother, Roberto “Bobby” Yanez (Alice); in-laws Vidalinda Arriaga, Jimmy Romero, Albert Romero, Sr., Ruben Romero, Sr. (Benita), Annie Secor (Brian), and Arnold Romero, Sr. as well as, numerous loving nephews, nieces, and friends.

He was preceded by his parents, Antonio and Lucy “Luz” Yanez;  sisters Baby Guadalupe Yanez, and Baby Irene Yanez; brothers; Baby Antonio Yanez, Torivio “Toby” Yanez, Richard Yanez, and Rudolfo “Rudy” Yanez; nephews, Joe Robert “Bay” Riojas, Richard “Richie” Yanez, Edward “Eddie” Arechiga, and Gilbert Duran.

Heath Upchurch, Sr., Albert Romero, II, John Christopher Martinez, Jr., Albert Riojas, Sr., Bobby Yanez, Jai Garza will serve as Pallbearers and serving as Honorary Pallbearer, Ruben Romero, Jr.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m., Thursday, March 25, 2021, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First St. Austin, TX 78745. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 26, 2021, at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 1100 Main St, Buda, TX 786101.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
