Obituary of Stephanie Lanell Morrison

Stephanie Lanell Morrison, 50, of Taylor Texas, passed away on February 23, 2021 with her family by her side.  Stephanie was born in Austin, TX on November 12, 1970 to Sally Sosa and Stephen Morrison. Stephanie joins her mother, Celsa Sally Sosa Ramirez, who preceded her in death. 

Stephanie was a bright student who graduated from the prestigious LBJ Science Academy in 1989, where she marched as a trumpet player in the award winning LBJ Marching Band.  She spent three years at Southwest State University where she studied social services.  Stephanie had a great passion for music.  Some of her favorite artists included Bon Jovi, Prince, and Michael Jackson. She also enjoyed reading novels by her favorite authors Stephen King and Dean Koontz.  

Stephanie worked as a patient care coordinator for CommUnity Care Clinic of Travis County. Stephanie loved the work she did because it allowed her to help people and create wonderful relationships with her colleagues.

If you ever found yourself looking for Stephanie, you’d easily find her spending time with her daughter Cely and two grandchildren Reign and Abel.  Stephanie was all about her family. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, cousin and niece.  There was never a family gathering that she did not make time to attend.

Stephanie is survived by her daughter Cely Tamayo; 2 grandchildren Reign Tamayo and Abel Rodriguez-Tamayo; father Stephen Morrison and step-mother Sherry Morrison; sisters Marjory Landaverde and brother-in-law Enrique Landaverde, Gretchen Robles and brother-in-law Enrique Robles, Jessie Chavez and brother-in-law Jesus Chavez, Janie Morrison, Fredrick Morrison and spouse Trish Cubias, and Melissa Adams and brother-in-law Joe; nieces and nephews Yaneisy Lua, Cristian Robles, Matthew Chavez, Samantha Landaverde, Trey Lua, Karen Landaverde, Stephen Chavez, Mariana Lua, Heather Robles, Ramon Chavez, Emily Landaverde, and Bethany Robles; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and godchildren. 

A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest St., Austin, Texas.
