Obituary of Diana Martinez Rangel

Our beloved Diana Martinez Rangel, age 71, was called home to our Heavenly Father, on Friday, February 19, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, of 35 years, Gilberto Martinez Rangel Sr.;  parents, Claudio and Aurora Acuna Martinez.

Diana is survived by her adoring children, Gilda Ramirez, Gibana Ramirez (Anastacio), Gilberto Rangel Jr. (Jessica), Gilrena Rangel, Aurora Rangel (Rolando), and Miguel Rangel (Felix); grandchildren, Serenity Shaw, Jessica Hyde (Brian), Eric Aguilar, Louis Aguilar, Stephanie Aguilar, Pete Aguilar, Destini Rangel, Gilberto Rangel III, and Peyton Rangel; great grandchildren, Jayde Hyde, Bryant Hyde, Stephen Aguilar, Alazay Barnett, Akeymiyoun Barnett; and her brother Samuel Martinez (Mary); as well as numerous loving family members and friends.

She was loved by her family and friends and was active in her deaf and hearing communities. Diana loved to watch her children and grandchildren play sports. In her spare time she enjoyed dancing, even without her hearing. She has a true passion and love for animals, especially her baby, Kagome Rangel.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2021, with Prayer Services beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First St. Austin, TX 78745. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 1, 2021, also at Mission Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
