Obituary of Sammy Tello Paiz

Sammy was called to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the age of 60.

Sammy was born on November 16, 1960 in Seminole, Texas to Alfonso & Louise Paiz. He was raised in Ovid, CO with his 7 siblings, he was the third eldest child.

He graduated from Revere High School in 1979. Sam was very athletic in high school, where he excelled in football, basketball, baseball and track. After graduation he proudly served in the Air Force from 1979-1983.

There were many wonderful things about Sammy. He believed in the value of working hard, a trait he had all of his life. He was a dedicated employee at USA Wire & Cable for 20 years.

Sammy was not only a wonderful brother, he was a true friend. He valued his family and his friends. He could be relied on if you ever needed him for anything.

Sammy loved action movies, his favorites were all the Rambo movies. He loved the movies so much his brothers nicknamed him “Rambo”.

Sammy is preceded in death by his parents; Alfonso Paiz & Louise Paiz, his wife; Jane Paiz, 2 grandchildren; Lailah & Legend.

Sammy is survived by his three children, two daughters; Ashlee Paiz & Kaylee Cruz and one son; Kyle Paiz. He is also survived by his 6 brothers; Martin Paiz, Ray Paiz (JoAnne), Robert Paiz (Mary Rose), Alfonso Jr (Susan), David Paiz (Janalee), Randy Paiz (Heidi) and one sister; Elia Rutherford (Robert), also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love him dearly.

Pallbearers: Kyle Paiz, John Guerrero, Jonathan Paiz, Andrew Paiz, David Paiz Jr., Darek Paiz, Michael Di Stefano, Joshua Paiz. Honorary Pallbearers: Alan Paiz, D’Andrew Pena, Matthew Di Stefano, Jacob Paiz.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.,Monday, March 1, 2021, with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First St. Austin, TX 787455 Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 2, 2021, also at Mission Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.

During this difficult time abundant caution due to the Corona Virus, the gathering is limited to 120 people at the funeral home. Masks and social distancing are required.
