Obituary of Deacon Johnny Hubert Ojeda Limón

Our beloved Deacon Johnny "Canica" Ojeda Limón was called to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 7, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 33 years and mother of his children, Dorothy Limón; parents, Francisco "Frank" and Eloisa Limón, and his siblings, Johnny O. Limón, Frank "Pato" Limón, Jr., Evangelina Limón, Louis O. Limón, Sr. and infant Angelina Limón. Canica proudly served our country as a member of the United States Navy.

Deacon Limón is survived by his daughters, Jeni Limón (Scott) and Dana Limón Smith (Clint); his sons, Raymond Salazar (Monica), John Henry Limón (Diane), Wayne Limón (Monica), and Joshua Limón (Melissa); his wife, Yolanda Hernandez; step-children, William Acosta (Kathy), Victoria Acosta, and Angelita Acosta; siblings, Rebecca Garcia, Lucy Barron, Joe Limón (Virgie), Paul O. Limón, Virgil Limón (Diana), and Martin Limón (Yolanda); sister-in-law, Mary Frances Limón; his grandchildren, Darian Limón, Vincent Viteritto, Dakota Limón, Vanessa Viteritto, Elayne Limón, Dorothy Limón, Liliana Limón, Ethan Smith, Eli Smith, Kevin Limón, John Michael Machado, A.J. Aguilar, Christian Garza, Alexander Garza, Tonya Jones, Ross Jones, Liberty Carlin, Meliah Garza, and Chantz Esparza; great grandchildren, Jonas Esparza and Sean Machado, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

The Limón Family calls Raymond Salazar, Wayne Limón, Joshua Limón, Vincent Viteritto, Dakota Limón, Louis Limón, Bryan Limón, and Gilbert Garcia to the honorable service of Pallbearer; and further names Vanessa Viteritto, Martin "Tepo" Herrera, Robert "Pulga" Carreon, David Lopez, Wayne Talley, David Terrazas, Will Acosta, Monsignor Lonnie Reyes, and Monsignor Libardo Rocha as Honorary Pallbearer. 

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 with Mariachi beginning at 5:00 p.m followed by Recitation of Holy Rosary, Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  

Scripture Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021, also at Mission Funeral Home - South Side.  Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
