Obituary of Elvira Jurado

Our beloved Elvira "Vera" Jurado, age 68, was called home to our Heavenly Father, on Sunday, January 31, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Maria Castro Jurado; and brothers, Edward Jurado, and Elias Jurado Jr.; and by her brother-in-law, Roy Haros.

Vera is survived by her loving children, Maria Ruiz, and husband Johnny, Joanna Mata (Rudy Aleman), Joe Mata and wife Carmen, Ruben Mata and wife Rose, Robert Mata and wife Laura, Richard Mata, and wife Destiny; twenty-seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Herminia Menchacha, Rosa Haros, Gloria Chavez and husband Miguel, Lucy Martinez and husband Gonzalo, Marylee Rodriguez, and husband Ernest; brothers, Jesse Jurado and wife Stella, Gilbert Jurado, Jose Jurado and wife Juana, Steve Jurado, and wife Rachel; and by the father of her children, Joe Mata, Sr.;  as well as numerous loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2021, with Prayer Services beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel, 6204 South First St. Austin, TX 78745. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2021, also at Mission Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Onion Creek Memorial Park Cemetery, Austin (Menchaca), Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
