Obituary of Joe G. Gonzales

Our beloved Joe G. Gonzales, age 79, resident of East Austin, Texas, was called to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 17, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago and Carmen G. Gonzales; his siblings, Senobio "Jimmy" Gonzales, Dolores G. Sosa, Eva G. Anguiano, and Mary G. Trevino. 

Joe is survived by his sister, Andrea G. Covarrubias, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other loving family and friends. 

Pallbearers are Ernest Gonzales, Noel Sosa, Adolfo Sosa, Daniel Gonzales, Alex Gonzales, and Luis Covarrubias. 

Honorary Pallbearers are Ruben L. Trevino and Arturo G. Trevino. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 12:00 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home-East, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas 78702.

The scripture service will be held immediately following the Rosary at 12:30 p.m., at Mission Funeral Home-East, 1615 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin, Texas 78702.

Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery. 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.

during this very difficult time.
