Obituary of Maria Guadalupe Rios

Our beloved Maria Guadalupe Rios, age 72, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 14, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Juan Manuel Rios, Sr.; her parents, Joe and Dominga Garcia, and her brother, Jesse Garcia.

Maria is survived by children, John Rios, Jose Francisco Rios, Albert Rios and his partner Esther Cavazos, and David Rios and his wife, San Juanita; her sisters, Mary Jane Cervantes and Olga Ramirez; her brothers, Martin Garcia and his wife, Lupe, Robert Garcia and his wife, Dora, and Juan "Mo" Garcia; 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-9:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Mission Funeral Home - South Side, 6204 S. First St., Austin, Texas.  Service will conclude this evening.

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
