Obituary of Shirley Rodriguez Cervantes

Our beloved Shirley Rodriguez Cervantes, age 51, resident of Austin, awoke in the presence of the Lord Most High on Sunday, January 10, 2021. 

She leaves behind her loving husband of 15 years, Jacob Cervantes; her children, George Castillo, Jr., Mario Ray Castillo, Victoria Castillo, Monique Simone Adelle Simms, Jacob Cervantes, Jr., Alysia Brianna Cervantes, Julian Michael Cervantes; her granddaughter, Zaria Castillo; her parents, Guadalupe and Mary Rodriguez; her sister, Sally Rodriguez; her brother, Steve Rodriguez; many nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.

The chapel will be open for Visitation on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. 

A Funeral Service will take place the following morning, Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at 12:30 p.m., also at Mission Funeral Home - East Side, 1615 East Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, Texas. The Funeral Service will be live-streamed to allow those unable to attend to participate. A limited attendance graveside service will follow at Assumption Cemetery, per cemetery guidelines. 

Due to the Coronavirus /  COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

Each person entering the funeral home, church, and cemetery will be required to wear a mask (those solely wearing face shields will not be permitted entry)

and to practice social distancing of 6 feet or more.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services. 

The family is so grateful to everyone for their understanding, love, and support

during this very difficult time.
